Sesame-Glazed Green Beans

Bright, flavorful, and easy to make, these sesame green beans are the perfect Thanksgiving side. Tender green beans are tossed in a sweet-and-savory dressing of soy sauce, sesame oil, lemon, ginger, and brown sugar, then finished with a sprinkle of sesame seeds. Serve them cold as a refreshing salad or heat them up for a quick pan-fried side — either way, they’ll shine alongside your holiday feast.

Serves 4-5

10 minutes to cook the beans and marinate + ~1.5 hours to marinate

ingredients

1 pound of green beans

Dressing:

2 tablespoons soy sauce

1 tablespoon sesame oil

2 teaspoons lemon juice

1/2 teaspoon grated ginger

1 tablespoon brown sugar

1/2 teaspoon salt (optional)

2 tablespoons sesame seeds

step by step instructions

  1. Boil green beans in salted water for 5-6 minutes.
  2. Mix together all dressing ingredients and either shake in a bottle or whisk well.
  3. Pour over green beans, toss well to coat
  4. Let marinate at least an hour. They are even better if marinated longer.
  5. These can be served cold as a salad, or reheated. Up to you!
