Sing to the tune of Billy Joel’s “Piano Man”

It’s 5 o’clock on a Friday night. The work week has come to an end.
As we gather together to celebrate and spend time with our family and friends!

We say, “Baruch atah Adonai” tonight. As we light the candles aflame.
Things may have been kind of tough this week, but we’re feeling good all the same.

Oh, la la la, di da da La la, di da da da dum

Thanks for the wine, this is Friday night, thanks for the bread on Shabbat.
We’re together and making new memories, and our blessings, we’re counting a lot.

Now Dad’s favorite dish is the brisket, and Mom loves the cold whitefish spread.
But Aunt Marcia’s become vegetarian, and eats only the kugel and bread.

We’ve invited some friends who are Protestants, and some who are Catholics as well.
Well, they’re trying their best to chant Hebrew, and doing so great we could kvell!

Now, the kids are giggling about something, they don’t want their parents to know.
And Grandma, she’s snoring quite loudly, after too many sips of Merlot!

And the dining room sounds like a carnival, as the plates and the glasses get cleared.
And we smile at each other, one friend to another, and say, “Man, we are so glad we’re here!”

Thanks for the wine, this is Friday night, thanks for the bread on Shabbat.
We’re together and making new memories, and our blessings, we’re counting a lot!

Why make an account?

Because why use any of your precious brain cells to remember where you kept those great readings that you’ll use someday at Jeffrey’s B Mitzvah? Make an account, keep the readings there. Easy peasy. The only thing you’ll need to remember is your password, and from personal experience that’s hard enough.
